Wivenhoe, Past and Present linocut by James Dodds. All James Dodds prints available to order from the sentinel gallery.

To make the most of your trip to Wivenhoe plan ahead, here are a few suggestions...

The town offers beautiful walks; via the woods, the village green King George, up or down the seawall along the Wivenhoe trail.

Wivenhoe's little fallen upon gem, The Wivenhoe Bookshop offers a unique array of books, alongside regular events; music nights (very cosy), discussion groups and Over The Sofa art.

For foodies

The deli offers a vast range of locally sourced produce run by people whom are food fanatics. For a spot of lunch or a quality cup of coffee pop next door Village Delicatessen and Tudor Tearooms

Valentino's is a cosy family run Italy restaurant and amazing quality food.

The Black Buoy is a community owned and renovated pub situated along the narrow streets of lower Wivenhoe, for a range of local beer and ale or a REALLY great tasting meal pop in for a seat by the fire.

The Greyhound recently under new managment, traditional feeling pub serves up fabulous food and a healthy, if not too tempting, array of drinks. They often host live local bands and performers.

On a sun shining day The Rose & Crown offers the most relaxing experience with a quayside sitting area
